TDEECalc Support

Get help with the TDEECalc iPhone app: contact the developer, fix Apple Health connection issues, understand target changes, manage data and leave a review.

How do I contact support?

Email [email protected]. Include your iPhone model, iOS version and TDEECalc version (shown in Settings), and describe what happened.

Please do not send detailed health information by email. The developer is not a medical professional and cannot give medical advice.

Where do I find the privacy policy and release notes?

The privacy policy explains what is stored and where. The changelog lists what changed in each version. For what the app does, see the TDEECalc app page.

How do I leave a review?

If TDEECalc has helped you, a rating or review on the App Store helps other people find it. Write a review on the App Store. The app never gates reviews or offers anything in exchange for one.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Apple Health?

Open Settings in TDEECalc, choose Apple Health & Adaptive TDEE, then tap Connect Apple Health and allow Body Mass and Dietary Energy. The app only requests read access to those two types and never writes to Health. Manual logging works without connecting.

Apple Health is connected but nothing shows up. What should I check?

Confirm that read access for Body Mass and Dietary Energy is on in the Health app or in iOS Settings, and that those apps or devices are writing data to Health. If you shared only a limited history, TDEECalc analyzes only the dates iOS makes available and says more history may be needed. Adaptive estimates need several weeks of weight and calorie entries.

How do I disconnect or revoke Apple Health access?

Disconnecting in TDEECalc stops future refreshes and clears imported samples from memory. It does not change permissions managed by Apple, so review or revoke those in the Health app or iOS Settings. A plan target you already applied stays saved, and your manual records are not deleted.

Can I switch between pounds and kilograms?

Yes. The app supports metric and imperial units. Enter your weight and height in the unit you prefer. Shortcut weight logging also accepts both kilograms and pounds.

Why did my calorie target change after a check-in?

It should not change on its own. The app may suggest a small adjustment, capped at 50 to 150 kcal by confidence, with a reason, and it applies only after you confirm. If your target changed, check whether you applied a recommendation or updated your profile. Profile edits show a preview first.

How are my data backed up, and can I export it?

TDEECalc keeps automatic rotating backups of calculation history on your device, up to 20, and excludes plan and progress files from system cloud backup. There is no developer-run recovery service, so data can be lost if the device is lost or erased. CSV and PDF export is not available in the app yet.

How do I delete my data?

Use Clear All History to delete saved calculations and their rotating backups. It does not remove your profile, active plan, progress or Apple Health records. Deleting TDEECalc from your iPhone removes its app data, subject to normal iOS behavior. Apple Health data is controlled separately in the Health app.

How do I turn off weekly reminders?

Reminders are optional local notifications that you enable yourself. Turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings under Notifications. TDEECalc does not send reminder information to a server.

Do Siri and Shortcuts work when my iPhone is locked?

Personal actions such as reading your target or logging weight require Apple's system authentication, so iOS may ask you to unlock first. Siri availability also depends on your system language and configuration.
